geeky stuff

9/20/2005

alot of things have happened in the last few days but not in my life. the revolution’s controller was finally shown and it’s so very very exciting. basically for non gamers, the next nintendo console will have a controller which is akin to a remote control but can sense movement in every way (forward, backward, left, right, up, down) as well as tilting. it also has an expansion to allow an analogue stick to be held in the other hand for extra functionality. imaging swinging your arm like a sword and it being translated into the game, or a fishing game which actually lets you cast properly. fps games will never be the same again with precision pointing, and rts games can finally be made on a console without the clunky nature of common controllers. while microsoft and sony are only making games prettier, nintendo are questioning the way we play games, and im all for it.

in other geeky news, where i once had 2 monitors, i now have 3. hooray for massive amounts of desktop space.

Grendala

9/12/2005

so it’s been a while but like i said, as soon as i get adsl i’ll host my game grendala. it’s a free mmorpg (an acronym that sounds very funny when you say it out loud) built with the playerworlds engine. forever (or till i get sick of it) in the making ill be updating it as time goes by with more maps etc. if you’re interested i have put in a new link on the contents which will direct you to all you need to know, for those that dont want to move the mouse that far there is also a link to it here. enjoy

ps. removed link (13/10/05) got sick of hosting it.

mashup

so that other person i was talking about before got fired. i guess the decision was confirmed when a fan blade was snapped off a xeon server… in any case the search for a new employee goes on, hopefully we get a chick though i guess the chances of that are very slim. much like this guy’s chances of not being somewhat embarrassed about his predicament.

windmill for the land

9/1/2005

i am having some major troubles since i bought my new fridge. whatever i put in it it just never seems complete. got all the usual stuff, milk fruit and veg, cheese, softdrink, margarine and whatnot. in the freezer i have heaps of icecream (can’t get enough of the stuff) and a big container full of water which i put in the first day i got it just so i could freeze something. maybe i need to start cooking real meals just so i can pack up the left overs and put them in the fridge to get old for a while…

in other news i have the new gorillaz album and its very different to what i thought it’d be like. standouts are feel good inc. and dare. some other very nice tunes though quite different to the kind of music im used to.
