alot of things have happened in the last few days but not in my life. the revolution’s controller was finally shown and it’s so very very exciting. basically for non gamers, the next nintendo console will have a controller which is akin to a remote control but can sense movement in every way (forward, backward, left, right, up, down) as well as tilting. it also has an expansion to allow an analogue stick to be held in the other hand for extra functionality. imaging swinging your arm like a sword and it being translated into the game, or a fishing game which actually lets you cast properly. fps games will never be the same again with precision pointing, and rts games can finally be made on a console without the clunky nature of common controllers. while microsoft and sony are only making games prettier, nintendo are questioning the way we play games, and im all for it.
in other geeky news, where i once had 2 monitors, i now have 3. hooray for massive amounts of desktop space.
It will be a disappointment. :| Nintendo need to get back in the game market first of all, THEN be innovative.

Back in the game market? Because Super Smash Bros: Melee, Geist, Metroid Prime, Twilight Princess, etc are all SO far from the concept that is a game after all.
I’m excited by the way. It could fall flat on it’s arse but in all honesty Nintendo are the ONLY company who can pull this off. Look at the eyetoy, it’s pretty lame (the potential is there, they just aren’t using it for anything interesting), or Microsoft’s… ok so they don’t do anything innovative (you know what’d be really innovative from them? a program that WORKS).
SO yeah, I’m excited.

Have you ever been fishing for real?
Comment by weshead — 9/21/2005 @ 12:17
yes and its boring because real fish take ages to bite. thats the beauty of video games. of course you dont get to eat the fish afterwards, but you gotta take the good with the bad.

Sin, my windows calculator has NEVER crashed.

Yeah, the inbuilt calculator owns.

maybe microsoft should get into the calculator industry.

i’d buy it.

I wouldn’t, considering they give you a free one with their Operating Systems. Definitely makes my 300 bucks worthwhile knowing that the in built calculator is of exceptional quality (not that I have ever actually bought a Microsoft OS, but you get the idea).
