I’ve been on a movie spree as of late… Nothing to do with the fact that I have adsl or anything… Here is what I think of my recent viewings.

  • 40 Year Old Virgin, plot kinda explains itself, is a very funny movie. Watch it.
  • Cinderella Man is a drama… I don’t like dramas. It’s about boxing… I don’t like boxing. In spite of all this, I shed a tear(#) watching it. *ponders whether or not to leave that in as not to seem like a sissy… **hears voice in head: they know you are anyway**…leaves it in* Seriously go and watch it now. I really liked it.
  • Dukes of Hazard (2005). If it wasn’t for Jessica Simpson’s legs I would have fallen asleep 10 minutes into the film (and in fact did for the last 20 minutes or so.) Don’t watch it.
  • Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. A fun romp through the world of FFVII, lots and lots of nostalgia is infused within, though the story is rather shallow compared to the games, the action sequences sure make up the difference. Go and watch it if you like CGI action.
  • Deuce Bigalow European Gigolo, compared to the first film is crap and way too over the top. Lacking in any genuine laughs, just jumps right over the line between funny and lame far too often. Definitely don’t go and watch it.
  • Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005). A twisted tale and I’m still not sure what to think of it. Follows the book a little more closely. Willy is a lot stranger this time around. Watch it but don’t expect it to be anything like the first.
  • Corpse Bride. Tristan recommended it to me so I watched it. It was weird and yet strangely entertaining about a guy who ends up being the husband of a corpse (surprise surprise). Watch it.
  • I have also been playing through Legend of Zelda:Wind Waker again. It’s great. Work is busy, I have a full fridge, I spent less than 3 hours total on the Internet since my last post. That’s gotta be a record.

    # It should be noted that I don’t get teary about sad things. Only in situations where the characters face insurmountable odds but are gunna give it all they have regardless. 2 other movies where its happened like that for me, one in The Last Samurai in the final fight where Tom Cruise is getting an ass whooping, and in the 3rd LotR movie (Return of the King). When they are surrounded by all the dudes at the gate but are like “fuck it lets fight even if we’re gunna probably all die horrible painful deaths” (I’m obviously paraphrasing, but if I wrote the whole speech I’d probably run out of web space.)

    1. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is good, I liked it. Dukes of Hazzard I wanted to see when I first heard about it, but so many people have turned me off it so I won’t, plus the trailer made it look crap.

I was in the line to buy a ticket with the bf the other night and the line was huge and the stupid waiter at the resturant had stuffed up my order and i was feeling like pms shit and the person behind me said that ‘little fish’ was a sad movie, and for very little reason i started to cry in the middle of lygon street nova complex and embarrassed the hell out of bf, who decided to take me home, walking, bawling all the way along lygon st, he could of at least taken the back way. but the point is tristan, i didnt get to see little fish.
