Have you ever wondered the origin of pants and socks? Well you will be surprised to know they are actually the same thing and originated back in the old days when clothes and stuff was first being created. Socks were created first to be worn while in shoes because shoes without socks = smelly and sweaty feet. People didn’t wear pants back then, it was summer and hot so all they needed was their shoes and socks for comfort when walking on the lava cracked land of old.
As it got cold though, the cave men and women needed a solution. They were very limited on materials as sewing machines had also only just been invented and there wasn’t enough cloth to go around. Instead of creating clothes to cover themselves more they would just pull up their socks. As time went on and it got colder they pulled them higher and higher until both socks inevitably met at the groin region. As every good cave man and woman knew they needed a solution. So the needle was invented, they pulled their socks even higher and stitched them up around their pelvis and the first pair of pants were born.
By the time the socks were pulled up so high that they were pants however, it was raining and wet from it being winter and the bottoms of the socks started rotting off. There was still not enough cloth to go around so as winter turned into spring, the once were socks to pants were now 3/4 pants slowly turning into shorts. Spring came around and all the wool plants came in bloom and there was just enough to create a new pair of socks for the summer and so the cycle began again.
So when you see people with short shorts and no socks, feel sorry for them, they will be screwed when winter comes around.
